Hello Dear Listeners, welcome to overcoming temptations. My name is Oyisi Okatahi. Today our topic is titled: Switching Destiny. There are many people who have had their destiny change or altered by their enemies or Satan. God has planned something good for them but the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy, has stolen their destiny. Some people believe that destiny cannot be changed and what will be will be. This is false, destiny can be changed, due to the power of choice. If someone decides to climb the top of a building and jump down and kill himself and say that is his destiny, that is false, he made a choice to die. And it is because we have choice that God will judge us one day. God chose King Saul to be king over the Israelites but Saul decided to disobey God consciously and God replaced him with King David, so destiny can be changed.
Our bible reading is taking from 1 Kings 3:16-21. I read from New living translation. 16 Some time later two prostitutes came to the king Solomon to have an argument settled. 17 “Please, my lord,” one of them began, “this woman and I live in the same house. I gave birth to a baby while she was with me in the house.18 Three days later this woman also had a baby. We were alone; there were only two of us in the house.
19 “But her baby died during the night when she rolled over on it. 20 Then she got up in the night and took my son from beside me while I was asleep. She laid her dead child in my arms and took mine to sleep beside her. 21 And in the morning when I tried to nurse my son, he was dead! But when I looked more closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn’t my son at all.”
Wow, so one of the prostitutes told the King Solomon that while she was asleep the other prostitute whose son had died switched her dead son for her live son, but in the morning when she woke up she realized that the dead son was not hers. So as some people are sleeping in the night as they are sleeping spiritually other people are switching their destinies and giving them something bad in replacement. May no one switch your destiny in Jesus name. Remember in those days there was no DNA test to prove the real parent of a child, also these women were alone no witnesses to prove what happened, and because they were both prostitutes no one usually would believe either of them. So if not for the wisdom of King Solomon the innocent mother would have had her destiny switched forever. Solomon now asked that the child be cut into two and divided among the women, the real mother now shouted and said please give it to the other woman, but the other woman said they should divide the child. So from their intentions Solomon now knew who was the real mother and said the child be given to her. Not many people are lucky to have King like Solomon correct their destiny; However the woman said it was while she was asleep her child was switched or changed. Are you spiritually asleep, you do not pray, you don’t fast, you don’t meditate. It will be very easy for your enemies to switch your destiny. You are about to marry a man and your best friend ends up marrying him, your destiny could have been switched. You about to get job at final stage someone else from nowhere is given the job, your destiny could have been switched. When you are about to win a contract and at the last minute they cancel it and give someone else your destiny could have been switched. Each time you are pregnant and about to give birth you have a miscarriage, your destiny could have been switched. Arise and pray, do not sleep spiritually, let no man take what God has destined for you, your destiny is not automatic, you must pray for it. Have a blessed day.
