Hello Dear Listeners, welcome to overcoming temptations. My name is Oyisi Okatahi. Today our topic is titled: Let God fight for you.
In biology and philosophy there is a concept called the survival of the fittest or the law of natural selection. This means in simple terms that the strong will always oppress and overpower the weak. For instance in the animal kingdom the lions will attack and kill the weaker animals like zebras and antelopes. Also in the human race the stronger race colonize the weaker race and richer people usually oppress the poor. Even in a family the stronger and richer person usually the husband will oppress his wife, and when the wife is richer and more influential she oppresses her husband. This is the reality of how life works.
So sometimes in life you feel helpless because people oppress and cheat you but you do not have the resources or power to fight them. Or sometimes it may be poverty or sickness that is oppressing you and you don’t seem to know the way out. This is the time when you must ask God to fight for you. No man, spirit, or situation can fight God and win, so if God fights for you, you are sure to win. In 2 Chronicles 20, I will read some verses. Verse 1-3 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites[a] came to wage war against Jehoshaphat.
2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea. 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. Verse 6. and said: “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. Verse 12: Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you. Verse 15, the prophet said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Verse 22. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
So God gave Jehoshaphat victory because he trusted and depended on Him. No matter how impossible the situation is, God is able to grant you victory. Now I need you to know that there is a condition for God to fight for you. You need to obey Him. You cannot be living a life in disobedience to Him and expect him to fight for you. You cannot live in lies, deception, fornication, cheating, unforgiveness and so on. Also you cannot be doing it your own way and expect God to help you, you must surrender to Him. Heaven does not help those who help themselves, heaven helps those who cannot help themselves and trust God to help them. So as you pray and praise God he will direct your path, not by your own power but His own power.
So allow God to fight your battles and you are sure to win them. Have a blessed day in Jesus name.
